MEET OUR DESSERT JUDGES

The Sweet Spot Margate Lykeisha The Baker

CHIEF DESSERT MASTER JUDGE - TEAM CAPTAIN
Lykeisha Jenrette, widely known as Lykeisha The Baker, is a celebrity cake artist that began her baking career in 2011. She is the owner of The Sweet Spot Desserts & Cake Supplies in Margate, Florida. She bakes everything from delicious cupcakes daily to elaborate cakes that are almost too big to fit out of the front door. She offers “Cake Wars” themed parties, as well as cupcake and cake decorating birthday parties for children as well as adults. The Sweet Spot also offers baking classes, cake decorating classes, baking summer camp for children, and they sell cake supplies.

With her unique desserts and flavor profiles, her business grew at a rapid pace. She quickly realized she had a keen sense for thinking out side of the box and creating very unique flavors. Her goal is to create gorgeous desserts that not only look good but taste incredible. However, her prime focus is to build relationships with her clients and create an experience, not just a cake.

Shortly after launching her business, she was featured in a front page feature in the Miami Times in 2012. Her desserts are just what you have always dreamed of and more -- full of old-fashioned, melt-in-your-mouth goodness.

Her baking strength comes from her growing up in South Florida, with its multicultural community. As Lykeisha the Baker, she became a bit of a social media maven with unusual dessert-flavor profiles.

----“I grew up in Miami, and it’s so diverse,” she says. “You can go down the street, and you’re in what’s called Little Havana. And then, you can go around the corner, and you’re in what’s called Little Haiti. So it’s so many different cultures, so many different cuisines that I’ve also been exposed to. And it’s allowed me to kind of travel without traveling. I’ve been … able to grow my flavor profiles by just being in South Florida because of the diversity of cultures.”

In 2015, she won first place in the Soul-ful Cook off Dessert Category which took place in the African American Library.

She has a keen sense for thinking out side of the box and creating very unique flavors. The goal everyday is to create gorgeous desserts that not only look good but taste incredible. However, my prime focus is to build relationships with my clients and create an experience, not just a cake.

Some of Lykeisha the Baker’s most popular treats included cakes that tasted like strawberry-shortcake ice cream bars, her southern based cake flavors like banana pudding and peach cobbler to name a few, and her after-5 cupcakes, which were infused with Strawberry Margarita, Kahlua, Moscato, Tequila, Rum, and other alcoholic drinks.

She was named Best Baker in South Florida 2017 by The Sun Sentinel “Best Of” List.

She went on to audition for a Food Network Competition at the Miami Gardens Food and Wine Festival titled “Sweet Freaks”, where she was named the winner. It aired on its sister channel, The Travel Channel on April 2018.

She was then featured in a full front page article in The Sun Sentinel 2018.

No recipes using cake mixes, no processed, cardboard tasting cakes. These are the real thing -- the same cakes her great Grandma made! She focuses on producing desserts that taste as great as they look. You will simply have to try one of her desserts to see for yourself.

The Sweethearts Frannie Sheridan Dani Michaeli

DESSERT MASTER JUDGES
Married couple Frannie and Dani are called THE SWEETHEARTS. In their weekly vlog (published over the net and also monthly in Around Wellington Magazine) Frannie Sheridan and her husband Dani Michaeli traverse North America in search of the ultimate dessert. But the popularity of their vlog is not due to their dessert assessments alone, but because of the contagious fun they have sharing goodies.

Raised by a Viennese father and German mother, Frannie was weaned on scrumptious international desserts. The first word most infants learn to say is “Momma!” Frannie’s was “Sacher Torte!” Frannie is a recognized published Playwright (recipient of 2 mayoral awards from solo shows at The Kravis Center and The Colony Theater, Miami), Raconteur and Humorist with a life-long passion for food. Her memoir ‘CONFESSIONS OF A JEWISH SHIKSA’ will be released for worldwide distribution by publisher Mosaic (Canada) later this year.

Dani is the ying to Frannie’s yang. He brings his gorgeous Middle Eastern accent, and his exotic palette. His knowledge of food is textured from decades of creating delicious fare, first as the co-owner of Este Cafe in Queens, NY and most recently Dani’s Organic Fun Food (which generates mouth-watering Mediterranean gourmet cuisine). His recipes are influenced by his Egyptian-French mother, as well as his wife’s sophisticated palette (she wrote this by the way) and the European bakeries which he regularly frequented as a child in Israel. The couple have an affiliated Canadian-American TV show in development, best described as “if a dessert show and a sitcom had a baby”.

DESSERT MASTER JUDGE
Lee Mazor. After leading a successful business career in Miami, Lee decided to leave it all behind and follow her true passion, baking and pastry. She attended The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York and graduated with high honors in 2012.

Lee returned to South Florida and worked at an array of impressive establishments, including The Four Seasons Resort, Hakkasan and Gotham Steak in the Fontainebleau. Lee has always imagined opening her own bakery in Fort Lauderdale, a location which she loves and has always felt was lacking what she knew she had.
